It's a brand new week and i am back to blogging and like any of my other articles ill go through the pain of stating that it is opinion based. I was born and raised in Buea and i practically ride for my town. There is alot of talent there and i even dare to say its the most gifted city in the country. We have seen a lot of comes and goes from this town but the flowers keep blooming. Buea is the city that brought you talent like BAAM, Dr Sley
(Oscar award winner), Stevelil, Achale and a host of others but what i cannot understand is that none is creating waves nationally talk less of internationally. I mean Achalle and BAAM had their run and a few others but we haven't seen a National sensation yet. The emergence of multiple recording studios is as just like buying fancy pens for an examination with nothing in your brain. Don' get me wrong the diversification is appreciated but not welcomed at this time. I remember the days when we had just Street thugs, M1, Chillen Mutzig and Trackzone and subsequently Decobra and No hits No Records breaking from the Decobra tree. but these
days I cannot count the number of studios nor even remember all their names. I mean the people who even started this movement in Buea are hardly even mentioned. The thing about Buea is that we are engineered to be proud pricks (pardon my french), having pride is good sometimes but when your proud of things that no one can see then there's a problem. The younger artists coming up always feel they know too much to listen to others but after shooting a couple of videos that only impress friends and family and maybe its even played on local Tv stations and it raises a couple of eyebrows but pockets remain as empty as a mothers pot after a graduation party then as they say "you gon learn". I have great love for this town and i know it is capable of doing so much more but the talking and BS has to stop and we need to see more and hear less.
The studios are well equipped yes, the video directors are gearing up and some people are even starting to structure their labels. Someone once told me Buea has a lot of talent but no business minds. Very few acts can boast of paying their daily meals with music money talk less of their house rent. Now don't get me wrong here I am not blind to the effort that is being put in here, God knows we have seen some progress but for such talent that Buea has we need to see more. It's like seeing Leonel Messi score one goal every match its okkkk or fine but we all know he can do better. It has to take combine effort, smart minds, bold decisions and above all humility to make that step but we have to admit it's time we take it. We don't have everything in our little town but partnering and networking can give you what you don't have in a short space of time. and in the words of Rick Ross " First of all, it is the principal through which you may
borrow and use the education, the experience, the influence and perhaps the

people in carrying out your own plans in life. It is the
principle through which you can accomplish in one year more than you could
accomplish without it in the lifetime if you depend entirely upon your own

including your personal success, has a price that must be paid". I love the talent and the people in this city too much not to talk about this. It is not a hate speech it is just how i feel and i may be wrong about some things but oh well... every man has a mind of his own. You can keep on doing music for the wrong reasons and to impress the girls in short skirts( oh! my bad i forget say them don Ban short Skirts) or you can take that Talent to the bank.......
