REVIEW OF ANGLOPHONE MUSIC IN CAMEROON

 

I will like to start this article by applauding the tremendous efforts made by all artist, labels and production crews for getting anglophone music to were it is. We can see a lot of increase in the level of production and general art in music. But in as much as this has been a fairly good year any good insider will tell you it is 65 percent hype. i don't mean to sound cynical on this one but like we say it is what it is. Now I'm going to pin point to key things that happened this year. First off i am going to start with organizations. had the failure of CUMA which was supposed to bring artist together but it ended up crumbling because of (bluntly putting it OVER SABY and NECK). we equally saw the Fix it show we received some praise but in the eyes of most entertainers it was over rated. Moving over to the Labels apart from the Non existent Labels that people claim to C.E.O's of on Facebook. We had a lot of interesting people popping out of the Significant label. We saw the Rise of The Fluri Boys popping out from NO HITS NO RECORDS  who Practically Seized Buea with their Hit song Thursday Nite. We also saw Track-zone Records release a couple of Videos for its acts although their views on you-tube weren't impressive they were worth noting in shows and events. Chillin Music though Dormant through out the year came out at the end with an impressive video for the artist Marc eff.G3 music shot the scene with an eye popping video from Adah. Nexdim entertainment equally put steveslil at the level he deserves to be this year. Street Talks entertainment though a Pioneer Name when it comes to studios in Buea was a little sleepy till Mel B's video Yes Yes entered the scene. BTR is Coming up Strong lets see what they'll do with it. We cannot mention all the labels But at the end of the Label run MuMak Put on its ass kicking boots and Kicked ass. When its comes to Video Editing all we can say is and the winner of the year goes to ...drum roll please....Feb 16... and yes i said it. Go chop stone if yi vex you. But in all seriousness Dude came through with another level of creativity in Pitie by Jovi. Applaud should also be given to other directors like Mr Adrenaline, Dr Kapt, K9, DJ Zee and Master chill for their tremendous work this year. Now going To the Artist. There has been alot of yapping about on facebook but those who really did it this year include Denzyl, Adah, Magasco, Fluri Boys, Rythms, Rennise, MD the Rap Monsta, Rough Kumba Boi, Steveslil, Sine, West Don, Marpe, and finally Jovi got us rethinking our Lyrics and rythms. Now in all honesty I think the music game has come a log way but if we all can stop bragging and do our homework we shall be able to do REAL features with the likes of Wizkid. Notice i mentioned Capitalized the word REAL. that's going to be another article. IN the main time happy New year and Hope u get noted this year.
